Gold Is the Metal With the Broadest Shoulders considers the idea of community in relation to mythological thinking. It approaches community as something that exists partly in lived reality and partly in imagination, where the forces that shape a society are not always human.
Within this expanded field one encounters tricksters, dead heroes, wandering prophets, inherited spells, children’s phantasies and lies, erotic alchemy, golden beards, film characters, mirrors and words. What emerges is a gathering that welcomes otherworldliness rather than the rigid categories, through which belonging is usually organised.
